What is a Buyer?

A Buyer is an entity in CAKE specific to clients licensing the Lead Gen platform.

Within the Lead Gen platform, Buyers are who you are selling lead data to.

Adding a new Buyer

Adding a buyer can be accomplished in multiple places in your CAKE instance.

- Click the Lead Gen main tab > click the Buyers sub tab > click Add Buyer button

- Hover over the Lead Gen main tab > go down to Buyers > click Add Buyer

A buyer only needs a name.  All other options in the Add Buyer wizard are optional and can be chosen/edited once the affiliate has been created.

*Notes: If you include the buyer's contact information, CAKE will send the buyer their login details due to the fact that the "Send Login Details" checkbox is checked by default.

If you will be adding a specific credit amount to your buyer, you will want the checkbox selected for "Require Buyer Credit".  This is selected by default.  If you uncheck that checkbox, your buyer will have unlimited credit.  You can also do this from the buyer card, which you'll see in the next step.

Every buyer will need money to purchase leads.  (**This is assuming leads are selling for more than $0. A buyer does not need money if leads are selling for $0)

Prepaid Amount: This is the prepay method.  Money can be added manually if the buyer is sending a check, wire etc.  Buyers can also add money in the Buyer portal through the integration.  (consult with your trainer for more information)

Credit Limit: This is the post pay method.  Buyers will be allowed to spend as much money as you place in this field and will be invoiced at the end of the billing cycle.  Again, you can put in an actual credit limit, or select unlimited.
